London Stock Exchange gets top listing at MC2

For the second time in six months, MC2 has brought the London Stock Exchange to Manchester for a briefing with some of North West’s most dynamic smaller public companies.

Mark Fahy, senior manager at the LSE, met with a selection of MC2’s clients at the marketing consultancy’s city centre offices for a discussion of market sentiment and the issues surrounding being a quoted company.  It also gave attendees the opportunity to find out more about the Stock Exchange’s new independent equity research service, launched last month to help smaller quoted companies improve investor understanding of their businesses.  The group also discussed the relative merits of raising finance via public and private markets in the current climate, and the impact that the UK property market and broader economic outlook might have on business in the coming months.

Mark Fahy commented: “Roundtable discussions like this are invaluable in gaining feedback on recent market experiences, both for the Exchange and for our listed companies.  It was great to come back to MC2 after such a successful event last November, and I look forward to returning again in the future.”

Sarah Lindgreen, head of financial PR at MC2, said: “We were delighted to welcome Mark and some of our clients, discussing recent market conditions and debating the benefits and challenges of being listed.  As we considered best practice for getting smaller companies noticed in the City, it was particularly good to hear how the LSE is supporting them by providing services that should really make a difference.”
